The older I get, the more I’m turning into my dad and step-mom. These two have to be some of the only people who don’t regularly use a cell phone. They have one that they will turn on if they are on a trip, but beyond that, it’s landline or bust. Honestly, I wish I could do that, but with the blog and photo stuff, it’s just not an option for me. That being said, I have found myself losing my phone more often when I’m at home. Maybe I leave it on the counter, maybe I leave it charging by my bed, I just seem to be leaving it places and, honestly, it feels great. I hate how connected we are all the time, and I am working on being a bit more engaged and a bit more present by not constantly scrolling, and I love hearing a song that mirrors that mentality.
“Get Off Your Phone” from Hanna Andréa starts off sweet as pie before it turns into a pop-punk-leaning, alt-rock anthem that is here to remind you to “Get Off Your Phone.” I love how bubbly and youthful this song is, but how you can relate to it regardless of age. It tells the story of the frustrations of being around someone who will not take their eyes off their phone. It’s playful enough to bring a smile to your face, but also has just the perfect amount of grit and angst to really drive the message of the track home. “Get Off Your Phone” is the lead single off Hanna Andréa’s upcoming EP ‘Braveheart’, so if you like what you hear here, make sure to throw her a follow so you don’t miss anything else that she has coming up.
