It was the song’s name that caught me. I thought “The More I See, The Less I Know” wasn’t just a clever title; it was one that made me think. Did I agree with the statement? What kind of things came to mind when I read it? Honestly, it’s the kind of song title that stopped me dead in my tracks and gave me something to think about, but when I hit play on this powerful anthem, I quickly realized that the title was just a lure and the real magic was in this song itself.
The debut track from This Could Be Dangerous’s brand new EP, “The More I See, The Less I Know,” starts off with a bit of a hazy kind of tone before guitars come crashing through the haze and shoot this song off. Stylistically, I would call this pop-punk but it’s not the nostalgic kind of pop-punk that I typically share out. I guess it is in ways, but overall, the pop-punk style showcased by This Could Be Dangerous feels completely fresh. It has some alt-rock tendencies that give it a bit more chutzpah than just poppy fluff, like some pop-punk bands, and the almost hardcore approach to the beat of this song gives the track a little extra flair. Add in some mathy guitar work and the just insane amount of passion and energy that can be felt throughout this four minute song and you are left with pure perfection.
