Girl at the Rock Shows

I know most people are just now getting started with their day, but I’m already two hours into my day job and am losing steam. It’s not that I’m tired or even stressed. Truthfully, I feel pretty rested and oddly calm, but I just don’t want to be here anymore, and although the first two hours went quickly, I have a feeling the rest of the day won’t, so I’m hoping that filling my day up with new music will push things along until I can escape this office. I don’t know what kind of music I’m in the mood for yet today, but I do know that kicking any day off with a new song from Meathead is the right way to go.

“Yeah, No, For Sure” is the second single from Meathead’s upcoming EP ‘Is This Becoming?’ and explores the guilt experienced during a break-up. I’m not in the midst of a breakup right now (at least I don’t think I am) so it was hard for me to relate to the meaning behind this song but it wasn’t hard for me to fall in love with the sound of the track. In true Meathead fashion, this is a pop-punk anthem with the perfect amount of emo sadness and just a little bit of sharp-tongued angst to make everything pop. Although it’s a quick song at just under two minutes and forty seconds long, I love how Meathead gives you a complete and cohesive thought and storyline with this track. It just goes to show not only the talent of this band, but the intent behind everything they do, making them a band that you can not be sleeping on this year.
