Remember when we all thought dandelions were beautiful flowers? It was before we learned that they are actually weeds and a bit of a nuisance when you have your own house. I don’t see them that way. I still see them as beautiful flowers and find a sense of whimsy attached to them so I love when I’m walking somewhere and see a perfectly formed dandelion swaying in the breeze. This really has nothing to do with “Eden”, the new song from Dandelioness, but the beauty that I find in dandelions is something that absolutely translates perfectly into the beauty that is this amazing songstress.

“Eden” is nearly six minutes of pure bliss. There’s really no other way to put it. The opening track from Dandelioness’ upcoming album of the same name starts off slow and meditative. Really, the opening of this song feels like therapy and like drifting away from the stress and chaos of everyday life and into a world where beauty reigns supreme and calmness is a way of life. Distorted and electronic vocals come in, and even with the power that this brings to the song, the track stays very cool, calm, and collected as if keeping your body and mind calm while lifting your spirit high up into the sky. Okay, that may not make much sense, but I promise that, about halfway through this stunning track, you’ll understand what I mean. This is seriously such a stunner to open an album with and will surely get you hooked as you step into Dandelioness’ world and I promise that’s not just me saying that. “The opening and title track of my upcoming record, Eden teases the listener with the premise of taking the divine as a lover. How do we make sense of a loving god that hurts us? What if we viewed that existential bind through the lens of kink? Eden a polaroid of the blissful surrender I found in that idea. Distorted harmonizer on the vox and swirling, glowing instrumentation push the listeners face into the veil. It’s the opening of a portal, an invitation to give in.”
