I don’t know why I obsess over the weather but I do. I am currently at work and getting stuff done, but I have one of my favorite online meteorologists streaming on my phone, and I keep finding myself getting lost in watching it. Maybe it’s because of the sheer power that Mother Nature has, maybe it’s that dangerous nature of storms, maybe it’s just my ’tism popping out a bit more than normal. No matter what it is, I love the weather and could watch this all day if given the chance. I don’t have the chance today. Although I can leave this streaming on my phone, I can’t keep getting sucked in. I need to get my head back into work, and “Cease To Exist” from MEMORY will hopefully be the song to do that.

The title of this song led me to believe it might be about loss. It is, but not the kind of loss I was expecting. This song is about losing your patience. It’s about those moments that push you to the brink, and you just can’t take it anymore. I love it, and I love even more how MEMORY captures the feeling of frustration, anger, and tension that comes with losing your patience. There are moments of dissonance scattered throughout this song and times where you feel like maybe the track is going to go ever so slightly off the rails, but MEMORY is masterful, and they never let it go too far. This song is one of those songs that gave me a bit of anxiety, but in the best way possible, as it was more of an outlet for my own standard level of anxiety. Do you not understand what I’m trying to say there? Just check out “Cease To Exist” for yourself. I promise it will make more sense after you get lost in this world.
