Okay, now the exhaustion is getting to me. It’s been two back-to-back late nights, and this morning is one of those mornings where even just keeping my eyes open feels like a colossal task. Thankfully for me, I have some stellar music to help keep me awake and keep me going, like “Mother Mother” by Adam Jensen.

The third single from Adam Jensen’s debut album ‘Hymns for the Damned,’ “Mother Mother” is about what it’s like to hit rock bottom and have nowhere to go. Thankfully, I’ve never hit rock bottom. I’ve hovered right over it more times than I can count, but I feel like I’ve never really hit the bottom (knock on wood). One of the reasons I feel like I’ve never truly hit the bottom is because I can always turn to music to save me and this is one of those songs that will absolutely save me on those days where I can see the bottom isn’t that far away. This song is passionate and fiery, but it’s comforting at the same time. There are moments of desperation followed by glimmers of triumphant hope. It’s hard to believe that this entire song was written and produced in Adam’s garage by himself, but that’s how the story goes, and I feel like that adds a super raw and emotional edge to this swagger-filled track.
