Wow, Okay, Cool released their new LP ‘If This Is Where It Got Us, What Good Is It?’ just a couple of weeks ago. I have been listening to it ever since release day. Have you? It’s okay if you haven’t. This New Haven, CT band isn’t a household name yet, but they surely will be in no time, so let me introduce you to them by sharing a favorite off the record: “A Note to my Enemies”.

Wow, Okay, Cool has, as they put it, a lot of things to gripe about but so do I. Maybe that’s why I felt so connected to this song from the get go. This song feels like a desperate plea but I’m not going to tell you what the plea is for because I feel like it could be so many things and, truthfully, it doesn’t matter. We live in a very fucked up world these days and we all have a million things we can complain about. I love how Wow, Okay, Cool has put that feeling into a cathartic song full of angst, grit, and passion. Although I picked up on a feeling of a desperate plea, there’s also a feeling of relentless energy and this feeling that, no matter what, you can’t give up. Maybe I’m reading into it. Maybe I’m taking out of this song what I need to get through today. Either way, this song is a ear-catcher and is a great intoruction into the beautiful and powerful world that is Wow, Okay, Cool.
