I went to a super fun show last night. It not only filled me with energy but also gave me the confidence to be my weird, quirky self without limits. It has me feeling great this morning and, although I’m down to the wire to get stuff done before skipping town for Riot Fest, I feel like I could take on the world one song at a time, so that’s what I plan to do today. The journey continues with “Maudolin” from Celebration Guns.

I love the way this song draws you in. It doesn’t come at you fast and heavy; instead, it drifts you off into Celebration Guns’ world, which, as you will quickly find out, is a beautiful one. “Maudolin” is, at its core, a pop-punk jam, but it’s so much more than that. Indie-rock tendencies scatter throughout the song, along with emo-styled vocals and glittery guitars that give it an almost mathy backdrop. The song’s ebb and flow is as organic as the words. You may think you know where the song is going, but Celebration Guns keeps you on your toes, throwing curveballs left and right and leaving you on a beautiful journey of self-discovery and comfort.
