I request the shows I cover about two weeks in advance just so I know my schedule, and so I have a shot at getting a coveted photo pass. In two weeks from today, there are about six different shows that I want to go to, and I just can’t decide which one to request first, with the others acting as a back-up. You can’t help me with this decision. Neither can “A Very Special Song for a Very Special Menu Item” from Me, Grimlock! but this song can help me ignore the decision-making process if only for a couple of minutes.
The third track from Me Grimlock!’s new EP, “A Very Special Song for a Very Special Menu Item” is a classic skate punk kind of song. It come at you fast and hard which makes the already short, two minute and forty-four second track feel so much shorter but it hits you with a lasting power. Some of that lasting power is the infectious chorus that will instantly get stuck in your head. The other part of that lasting power is the sheer amount of power and energy that this band puts into their music. Although I’ve never seen Me, Grimlock! perform live before, I feel like I can picture what it would be like while listening to this song and, let me tell you, I’m counting down the minutes until I can finally see this band live.
