I’m in a very random mood today. It’s one of those days when I can’t seem to settle on a genre to listen to. So far today, I’ve already dived deep into some hardcore, electronic, and even country so why not kee the trend going and just keep getting weird with it.
Okay, it’s not fair to call “Don’t you Leave” from Brynja Rán weird because it’s not weird at all, but for me, and compared to what I typically share out, this one is coming out of left field. You’ll understand within mere seconds of this song why I felt the need to share it with you. This is a stunning song that blends a soulful and funky vibe with a smoky and jazzy vocal. This isn’t just a song; it’s an atmosphere, and one that is impossible not to get lost in. A little Amy Winehouse mixed with Lana Del Rey, Brynja Rán’s vocals are nothing short of captivating and the intricate instrumentation helps those vocals glide throughout this three and a half minute charmer of a song. Sure, it’s not punk, it’s not metal, it’s not even pop, but “Don’t You Leave” from Brynja Rán is a song that is absolutely worth your attention today.
