I took Spanish back in my school days and used to be really good at it. Why am I telling you this? Well, had I stuck with it, I would probably be able to tell you more about “Una Bala En Mi Cabeza” by Anv Hysteria but, the fact is, I can’t. I don’t understand the words in the song, I can’t really tell what their bio is about– I’m a bit clueless– but that changes nothing about the fact that this song is absolutely great!
Folksy punk with a screaming harmonica and strumming guitars all the while shouted-styled vocals flow over it all– the amount of energy that this seemingly acoustic track has is stunning and had me stopped in my tracks. I love folk punk and am a huge fan of bands like Days N Daze and The Homeless Gospel Choir and this song has that vibe but then a little more. There’s almost an old school punk vibe hidden behind the folksy facade that makes this stand out from other bands in the genre.
Again, I really wish I had more to say about this song and I guess I could use a translation service to decipher their bio but I kind of like the mystique that not knowing gives this song. It’s the icing on the cake to a truly amazing track.
