Yet again, I was sold on a band name and song title. I mean, come on, if you’re going to name your band ‘Babies on a Halfpipe’ and then release a song that references cat litter in the title, I’m obviously going to be intrigued. Sometimes judging a band off of their funny and sometimes ironic song titles and band names doesn’t pay off but it absolutely does when it comes to this song.

Babies on a Halfpipe have a super raw vibe to them but there’s also something so polished about this song. With an overall indie rock vibe that sometimes merges into a more skate punk sound and, at other times, leans more into an almost emo induced feeling, this song reminded me of so many other acts while, at the same time, feeling completely new to me. I loved this and especially loved the vocals and lyrics. There’s just something about the vocals that reminds me of bands like Iron Chic and Banner Pilot but just a bit more commercialized. For the record, I don’t mean that in a bad way at all– honestly, it gives the song a very Babies on a Halfpipe vibe that I found completely addicting.
