It has absolutely been a morning. My phone has been ringing off the hook and I feel like everytime that I get in the zone and get to work, a fire pops up that I have to put out. I’m frustrated and a bit stressed but Shit Present’s song “Fuck It” definitely helped calm me down this morning.
I was expecting super aggressive and in your face solely based on the band name and song title but, instead, got a highly energetic yet calming vibe from “Fuck It”. There are definitely slamming drums and blistering guitars throughout this song but the melodies in the vocals and the overall word choice keeps this song from feeling chaotic or brash. There’s something almost therapeutic about this song that hit me just the perfect way as I let it take over my house this morning.
Stylistically, this song is part emo, part power-pop, part garage-punk and all heart which creates a super flawless and distinct sound and style. At times, the song reminded me of Sincere Engineer but those moments were few and far between and I felt a bit lost for comparisons throughout the majority of this three and a half minute long song. That being said, it’s a seriously perfect track that absolutely deserves your attention so play “Fuck It” (preferably loud) and enjoy!
