10 Minute Major may be a bit of a new band having only just formed in 2021 but their sound is timeless. Sure, the act that one of these members used to be a part of Glassjaw and another member has played with bands like Converge but don’t let that fool you– “Separate Ways” is a brand new song with an original feel but nods to the bands of years gone by.
“Separate Ways” is anthemic and full of moments that are equally catchy and full of life. I found myself in my typical afternoon slump when I pushed play on this track and was instantly pulled out by the energy in this song. That power and energy is almost deafening but this song is not aggressive in any way. Honestly, it’s a really fun bop and that delicate balance is something that I think can only be described as 10 Minute Major. This track is just over four minutes long but instead of having repeated parts, the movement throughout the track is constantly changing and making it feel like a truly epic piece of art.
