Although I’m feeling motivated this morning, I’m also feeling a bit burnt out. I just can’t seem to catch up and it seems like everyone is coming out of the woodwork this week. I suppose being this busy when being self-employed is a good problem to have but part of me just wants to escape to my closet, turn off the lights, and lay down for a good cry. Thankfully, I woke up to “RWD” from Dad Hats playing and it changed everything.
This song hit me right in the feels with the lyrics that seemed so very poignant this morning. On top of that, the controlled chaos of the instrumentation just amplified the perfection. The movement throughout this track is not super typical as it moves through varying time signatures and gives the song a very ebb and flow kind of feel. From aggressive lines of words to more calming meditative moments, I loved how this song seemed to both understand me, justify what I was feeling, and give me the motivation to not give up all at the same time.
Play this one loud and let it take over your space, heart, and soul if you’re feeling overwhelmed. I promise, it will help you find a sense of purpose while not ignoring what you’re feeling.
