My head is everywhere except at work today which is a problem. I have too much to do before this weekend to spend the day distracted so I need something to reel me back in. Here’s to hoping “EMERALD INFECTION” from LAKUNA does the trick.
One of the heavier tracks from LAKUNA’s record, ‘Not For My World’, this track doesn’t hold back. It brings a perfect blend of punk, metal, and even grunge into play and comes with a wicked amount of intensity. This song is loud and is best enjoyed at a super loud volume as if to truly overtake you but there are almost moments of almost tenderness sprinkled throughout the song. The contrast between clean and screamed vocals is stark but it’s also perfect with the way the two styled vocals take turns giving both a chance to take the spotlight. All in all, “EMERALD INFECTION” is a perfect example of balance and I can’t wait to dig into LAKUNA’s other songs to see if that’s just a signature move of this incredible band.
