Subtlety released their track “In Sleep” back in May. This makes it not necessarily a new track but I am so glad that the group decided to do another push on this single and it found it’s way to my desk.
The band’s first single post-pandemic, “In Sleep” instantly hooks you with wailing guitars, uber-strong vocals, and just an overall polished sound. Stylistically, this is half nostalgia and half fresh. Throughout this song, I got clear nods to bands like Emarosa and Dance Gavin Dance but I also didn’t get just a regurgitated vibe. Subtlety has taken those influences, twisted it with their own sound, and have truly made something spectacular. “In Sleep” is a rollercoaster ride of a song so, even if you don’t like it at first, let is play for a bit. Throughout the three minutes that this track lasts, you get a whole plethora of vibes and feelings.
