Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m calling today “Australia Day” here at the blog. Okay, that’s a bit dramatic, I know but “Paperwings” from Dial Denial is the second track from an Australian band that I am sharing with you today. I don’t know what’s going on over there but I know I have FOMO hearing all of these amazing tracks and knowing that it could be some time before I see them live.

Even though it may be some time before I see Dial Denial live, listening to “Paperwings” made me feel like I was seeing it live. The amount of power and energy that comes through on this song with every word and note is deafening and perfect. Although it’s full of energy, there’s something light and boppy about this pop-punk perfect track. The vocals are smooth as butter which is a perfect contrast to the more technical instrumentation happening underneath it all. There’s something almost mathy about the guitar work which really caught my ears but, being a lyrics lady, I was also struck but the overall content behind “Paperwings”. This is a radio-ready song with an edge that will surely be a new anthem for you if you give it a chance so what are you waiting for?
