Girl at the Rock Shows

My uber-pregnant ride or die best friend is at a doctor’s appointment right now and it has me a bit nervous but in a good way (she was due a week ago today and I think the big finale is coming sooner rather than later from how it sounds like she was doing last night). That being said, even though my head is absolutely with her, I am still at work with a pile of crap to do and I need to get my head back in the game. Thankfully, I have “Blinded” from Bodaget (featuring Adam Briggs) to help with that.

Bodaget may be a one-man band from Salt Lake City but the sound that Jared Dyer makes as Bodaget is far from hollow or even feeling like a solo project. Jared writes and performs everything in the Bodaget tracks (other than receiving a little help from Adam Briggs on this track in particular) which is a feat in itself. The fact that this song comes off as being so flawless and perfect is just the cherry on top. It has a classic pop-punk (leaning punk) sound that reminded me a bit of old school Alkaline Trio with a more MxPx feeling vocal style. These two things made the track feel familiar but the blend of the two made it feel completely unique and to say it had me hooked would be an understatement.
