Every once in awhile, I feel like grunge music just hits me perfectly. I’ll have some days where I spend the entire work day in a haze of Nirvana b-sides and I honestly love it. It’s been awhile since I’ve had one of those days but after hearing “Again” from KID-O, I’m feeling like I’m much overdue for a grunge day.
“Again” is grunge and it’s perfect. There are definitely obvious nods to 90s grunge greats like Nirvana but there’s also something fresh about their take on the mostly-forgotten genre. I like how the vocals seems to slide from word to word while making sure you understand all of the words. Even though the instrumentation is loud and fuzzy, like the words, all of the parts of this music come through loud and clear giving you layers upon layers to hone in on throughout the nearly three minute long song. “Again” is the second single from KID-O’s new EP, ‘The Backyard Tapes’ and I can already tell that that will be my next musical journey today so how about you come and join me?
