I’ve added a couple of songs from Scotchka to my playlists. I hope you’ve been listening and have caught onto this band but, if not, I’m here to dig a bit deeper into their new track “The Restless Ghost”.
Scotchka is a super unique band and this song is proof of that. Genre-wise, this song has a little bit of everything. It starts slow and steady like an instantly classic emo jam but quickly moves into something more powerful with a hook that is completely addictive. It leans emo with the vocals but the instrumentation during the chorus is strong. Strong enough to make you stop whatever you are doing and listen. This isn’t a super fun track lyrically but that just adds to the strength of depth of “The Restless Ghost”. Stick with this track all the way through for an absolutely explosive ending. Epic guitar solos are just the cherry on top when it comes to this song so, what are you waiting for. Stop sleeping on Scotchka and show them some love.
