It’s Wednesday. I don’t have anything more to say right now sadly. It’s just one of those days where work is already piling up and my exhaustion level is reaching a high point due to the current show bender I’m on. Regardless, there’s a lot of work to be done and lot of songs to share out with you today so let’s just not waste any time and see if we can find the perfect song to kick today off with.
“Watership Down” from Fight Back Mountain was the ticket as far as the best track to get my day started. This punky and anthemic song is truly perfect. It’s full of energy, power, and a slight hint of angst. The balance in this track is perfect as it doesn’t come off overly aggressive yet makes you feel something to your core. The vocals have a bit of a raspy effect to them giving the song a very punk vibe but, overall, the instrumentation and light-hearted nature of the song makes this feel like a pop-punk anthem. If you like bands like Jawbreaker and old school Green Day, this Saint Louis, Missouri-based band is for you and I highly suggest you check out Fight Back Mountain’s ‘Backslider EP’ for more magic from this band.
