Have you ever been to Hollywood? I’ve been there a couple of times and honestly, it’s just not for me. I don’t get the obsession with the town. I found it to be dirty and a bit just overwhelming in all of the wrong ways for me. Because of this, I don’t think I would ever want to “Die In Hollywood” but that doesn’t mean I don’t love this song with that title from Destination Disaster.
This song starts off with a cough and a swear word. Not kidding. I know an intro like that isn’t for everyone but, for me, it reminds me of when bands used to do “hidden tracks” on their CDs. There’s somthing informal and just a bit rough about starting a song off like this but it always catches me. If that small intro doesn’t catch you, the rest of this infectiously catchy track surely will. It’s a fun and fast punk song about how no matter where you go or what you do, there will always be issues. Okay, that feels a bit pessimistic when I write it out like that but, really, this song is anthemic and full of fun and life. Instead of taking it in a pessimistic way, I took this song to be a reminder to just do what you want, you don’t have to try too hard for anyone but yourself. Again, super fun track and, even if you don’t like the way it starts, I highly suggest you hang on for the ride that is this two minute and fifty second bop.
