I feel like every weekday around this time I start to droop. It’s a mixture of being tired and overwhelmed. I know I’ve gotten a ton of stuff done today but time is fleeting and I feel like there’s just no way I’ll ever catch up this week so why even try? I need a song to bring me back to life and give me a burst of energy while also comforting me and allowing me to come to terms with the fact that I am only one person and can only do as much as I can do. Enter: “Let It Die” from Dirty Rivals.

Dirty Rivals is a high-energy rock band from south Florida and I mean it when I say high energy. Although this song isn’t metal or punk like a lot of the tracks that I refer to as high energy are, this song is perfectly situated in the alt-rock side of things. There’s a sense of tenderness that lingers throughout this track but it still has this sense of power and slight angst that pops in and out throughout the three minute and fifteen second song. The chorus has hints of pop-punk tendencies but, overall, remains fairly commercial and accessible. On top of the energy is the emotion that comes through in this song. I love that this entire song has a huge range of emotions in it just like a day in your life has so go ahead and check this out and let this song sing to your soul and mind while also giving you a burst of energy and a sense of coziness.
