Girl at the Rock Shows

I feel like I sometimes get wrapped up in finding the best “buzz word” to describe a band’s sound. I need to remember that it’s okay to just call something “perfect indie rock” or “perfect rock n’ roll” rather than trying to find complicated sub-genres. “Rock N Roll Band” from Unit 47 was a good reminder of this.

Kind of like the title of this track, Unit 47 is just a “Rock N Roll Band” and, although they are absolutely worth your attention, they are just that. There is no smoke and no mirrors in this track. Heck, they don’t even throw in many flairs or razzle dazzle moments yet this song is so impeccable. It comes with you served with a side dish of swagger-fueled energy. It’s the kind of song that somehow gets stuck in your head even if you don’t feel like the track hit you hard enough to do so. There’s magic in the simplicity of this track but, at the same time, there are some wicked guitar parts that showcase the clear talent behind Unit 47. Don’t go into this song looking for a million different ways to describe and compare it. Go into this track and Unit 47 in general for some good ol’ fashioned rock music that will get your blood pumping.
