Although weekends really don’t mean much to me as a workaholic, I always look forward to Fridays because I know it means a lot of amazing music is going to be dropped. Today is no different and “What you Wanted (ReAligned)” from Belle & The Vertigo Waves is proof of that.

This song originally came out in 2017 on Belle & The Vertigo Waves’ first album ‘Aligned’. The band has redone it for their upcoming ‘(Re)Aligned’ EP that will be out in 2024. I have not heard the original but I can tell you that absolutely adore this version of the track. There’s power here but also an undeniable sense of beauty that comes through in the vocals. The vocals are the thing that stands out the most to me in this song. They are smooth and almost sultry at times but are so full of life and fire that they instantly command your attention and hold that attention throughout the track. There’s a sense of drama in this song that reminds me a bit of Schoolyard Heroes but also something a bit more classic that has a bit of a Paramore sound. All of these things come together to form the Belle & The Vertigo Waves’ sound which is beyond perfect and will definitely be a new favorite if you give this song a chance.
