Happy Friday! We’ve made it to the end of the week and, even if you still have a weekend full of work, I feel like it’s something to be celebrated so let’s check out some new music in celebration starting with “Trying Not 2 Die (Guitar Song)” from Ruby Blushing.
This song is the third single from Ruby Blushing and it will catch you instantly. The vocals are warm and raw but with an undeniable sense of emotion and heartbreak behind them. Although the song starts off fairly melancholy, it quickly turns into a jam with a sing-along styled chorus and such a sense of strength that it will make you feel like you can take on the world. I love the pop-punk roots of this song but how Ruby Blushing adds a very emo tinge to that vibe with the lyrics and delivery of said lyrics. This song will pull at your heartstrings at times with the darkness that comes through but, at other times, will have you wanting to stand up with your fist in the air and a sense of triumphant energy. What a perfect way to start off a Friday.
