Girl at the Rock Shows

Remember when you were young and having sick days was “fun”? I remember staying in bed all day and watching Price is Right and other terrible daytime TV. Well those days of having fun on sick days are long gone and although it was nice to be home all day on Monday, I couldn’t stop thinking about all of the work I was missing and how much I was going to have to do on Tuesday to catch up. Now it’s Tuesday and I’m drowning in work, music to check out, shows to book, emails, and everything else. Although I’m feeling much better, I’m stressed to the max and need to take a minute to just breathe which means it’s time to check out the first new single of the day.

“dirty word” from Frat House is a snappy little number that will instantly win your heart over. It’s definitely a track based in the emo world of things but there are these hints of something a bit more punk scattered throughout the song that keep it fresh and energizing. For me, it’s the lyrics and the vocal delivery that really sells this track. There’s just something relatable about them and it makes you form this connection with Frat Mouse that goes a bit deeper than “just listening to a song”. I love that and it has made me a new fan of this band. “dirty word” is off of their brand new album ‘Flea House’ so, if you like “dirty word”, make sure to check out the full album.
