I am not going to get caught up today. I am coming to terms with that and trying to get in a mind frame where I’m not stressed out about it, more just at peace with the idea that I can only do what I can do. This is a hard concept for me to grasp so I need a little nudge and am hoping that “October Air” from Number One Sons can be that little nudge I need to keep going for the day without becoming completely overwhelmed and shutting down.
Number One Sons is not a new band as they have been around since 2001. I love that you can feel that with their deep pop-punk roots that nod back to Green Day and Alkaline Trio throughout this song but, at the same time, you get a fresh take on the weathered genre. There’s a seriousness to “October Air” that reminds me a bit of the heart and control that Senses Fail brought to the scene back in the day but the chorus is oddly infectious with a bit more of a Blink 182 jangle to it. This song is pop-punk through and through so if that’s not your jam, you will honestly probably hate this track but, as a pop-punk princess, Number One Sons’ “October Air” absolutely hit the spot.
