The day is just trucking along over here. I hope it’s doing the same for you and it’s not a completely terrible day or anything like that. Just in case you are having a rough go at it, I have a song that will surely pull you out of your rut. One listen to “Whistleblower” from Black Budget and I assure you that you will have a smile on your face and a beat stuck in your head.
“Whistleblower” is about paranoia. Although the band says that it’s “about being in a state of constant paranoia, and dealing with the bombardment of propaganda and news we face on a daily basis,” I feel like it could apply to so many things in our busy day-to-day lives. Whether or not you want to dig into the lyrics of this track, the energy behind it will surely get you hooked. This song is only two and a half minutes long but it honestly feels so much shorter than that. The beat comes at you at breakneck speeds and will have you a bit dizzy at first before you settle into Black Budget’s punchy DIY punk sound. This song is raw but it gives it a really cool vibe that will either have you running as far away from this band as possible, or spending the rest of your day digging more into Black Budget. I truly hope it’s the latter.
