I know that we are far from the feeling of “Summer Slipping Away” as it really hasn’t even started yet but that doesn’t mean that this song from Palace road isn’t worth your attention.
“Summer Slipping Away” came out a year ago but it feels so fresh. Instead of being one of my typical shares where I find myself looking for a sense of nostalgia, this song is quite anti-nostalgia when it comes to the lyrics. It’s a track about finding a place in the present, not the past. There’s a sense of reflection here but, again, I love that everything about this song feels so fresh. Stylistically, this song is alt-rock with nods to punk and even pop-punk. The vocals remind me a bit of Rise Against but that’s as far as I can go with comparisons when it comes to Palace Road’s overall sound. “Summer Slipping Away” is full of power and energy that will help you get rid of even the worst case of the Mondays so, if you’re struggling to get through the day or just needing a small boost of energy, make sure to check this track out and show Palace Road some love.
