Monday is a weird day to release a single. Doing it on a Monday that is also April Fool’s Day is a bold move but, when it’s a track as solid as “Lockdown” from Rocket Steadman, it really doesn’t matter when you drop the single– it’s that good.
“Lockdown” starts off calm enough but, within the first twenty seconds, you get a taste of the wall of powerful sound that Rocket Steadman has to offer. This is an eight-piece band out of Phoenix, Arizona so, obviously, their sound is large but I love the fact that, even with so many parts, you can clearly hear everything throughout this track. The balance in not only the recording but also just the overall composition of this track is nothing short of brilliant. Add a happy and bouncy ska vibe and you are left with a track that will put a smile on your face regardless of how rough your day has been so, what are you waiting for? Get rid of that case of the Monday’s and push play on “Lockdown” from Rocket Steadman.
