There has been a grunge-revival happening lately and I, for one, am here for it. I feel like I would have been super into grunge if I had been just a bit older in the 90s but I honestly missed the boat for the beloved genre. That being said, seeing and hearing new bands like Swaamp pop up and make this genre their own has been a thrill and Swaamp’s new song “Lice” is a perfect example of what I’m talking about.
“Lice” is actualy Swaamp’s first-ever release but you wouldn’t know that when listening to this quick two minute bop. It hits and it hits hard with Swaamp’s signature blend of grunge skate punk. I love how this song isn’t just straight up grunge but has some clear grunge qualities to it– most notable the vocals. At the same time, there is this punk influence that reigns supreme throughout the track with the almost breakdown styled instrumentation that pops in and out throughout this song. “Lice” may be a quick listen but it packs a punch so buckle your seatbelts and get ready for one of the craziest two minute long rides of your life!
