It’s still early on a Monday but I’m already feeling the heat of the week and am feeling a bit manic. I can’t be this in my head this early in the week so it’s time to take a break and dig into some new music in order to try and calm down starting with “GOLDEN” from Family Man.
The focus track from Family Man’s debut album, “GOLDEN” is intense and I love it. There’s something threatening about the vocals in this track that reminds me of IDLES and something intense about the instrumentation that reminds me a bit of Viagra Boys. This song is pure power and although it lasts nearly four minutes without any break in the controlled chaos, there’s something genius about the overall composition in this song. There are rises and falls throughout where the instrumentation seems to slip into the abyss giving the vocals the spotlight before the heavy guitars and slamming drums come back in adding layers to the already deep vocals. If you’re needing a jolt of energy this morning like I am, “GOLDEN” from Family Man is the song for you.
