And, Boom!, just like that, it’s nearly 2 PM in the afternoon and I am so far behind on work that catching my breath is just not an option today. But that’s okay. I’m not going to get in my head about it. It’s only Monday and I still have many more days to pretend like I’m going to get caught up on work at some point so, instead of fretting, let’s dive into another new track.

“Crisis of Faith” is the second single from Faulty Cognitions’ new album ‘Somehow, Here We Are’ which just came out last week. I knew within my first listen of this punky track that the rest of my day would be filled with this new album playing on repeat. There’s something very raw about this song from the songwriting to the vocal styling all the way to the recording quality but I love that because it gives this song an unforgettable and undeniable sense of heart. Stylistically, this has a bit of a weathered garage punk vibe to it reminding me a bit of old school Dillinger Four but, at the same time, that weathered vibe could just be coming from the fuzz of the imperfectly perfect recoding. Regardless, this song is full of life and is the perfect choice for a Monday afternoon where you just need to come to terms with you’ve gotten done what you can get done today.
