Can anyone tell me where the time is going today? Although I’m getting a lot done, I’m feeling stressed by the realization that it’s already lunch time and I still have so much to do along with an appointment to throw a wrench into my productivity (thanks, ADHD). Stopping to check out some new music is probably the last thing I should be doing right now but here we are. Checking out new music is all I want to do right now, so let’s go ahead and take a secret break to check out “Just a Face” from L’Extravagante.

Everything about “Just a Face” is raw and I love it. It’s not raw in a garage-rock with crappy recording quality but it is. What do I mean? I mean that you get that sense of dirty grit and swagger throughout this powerful and anthemic track but you also get a very polished sound like it’s supposed to be like that. At the same time, it doesn’t feel like L’Extravagante is trying too hard to create this vibe. It’s something that seems to come naturally to this rock-electro-pop band. There were moments of this song that reminded me of Cobra Starship but others that had a bit more of a severe attitude behind them. No matter what portion of this song you listen to (and there are a lot of them as this song is six minutes and twenty-seconds long), you will surely find something you love, something that intrigues you, and something that hooks you. L’Extravagante is a force of a band and I can’t wait to dig into them a bit more when I inevitably lose my motivation to continue working today.
