I don’t know what’s going on today, but it’s only 9:30 in the morning, and I could already go for a “Beer Shot Combo.” I know that’s not an option as I’m stuck at work and that’s a shame but at least I have this amazing song from Pan Arcadia to help me get through this rough morning.

The lyrical content of this song is simple enough. It’s a swagger-filled skate-punk anthem about Pan Arcadia’s favorite drink. Or is it? Honestly, I think I could think of something that makes the lyrics of this song so much deeper than just a song about a “Beer Shot Combo,” but with the morning I’m having, that’s all I want this to be about, so I won’t dive super deep into it. That being said, this song is not a track that can be ignored. I love the way the band hits you with a sense of grit and angst in the chorus, but falls down into something of an almost defeated feeling between those shouted choruses. Overall, a DIY feel reigns supreme throughout this song, effectively conveying a dive-bar atmosphere in all the right ways. Although I’m hours away from my “Beer Shot Combo,” this song from Pan Arcadia has me feeling like I’m already there, and it’s just what I needed to get back in the game today.
