Girl at the Rock Shows

I have been sick since Monday. Like sicker than sick. It’s my normal strep and it’s going through the normal steps but something about this bout of strep has hit me a bit harder than usual and I feel like it’s taking me longer to recover than it typically does. It has me super frustrated because, although I can finally make it through a full day of work before tapping out, I still don’t have the energy for a concert and have already missed so many good ones. All I keep telling myself is that it can only go ‘Up From Here’ which is a perfectly fitting phrase to use right now because the next single I have to share out with you is from the band, Up From Here.

“Under Your Spell” takes all of the amazing things about modern-day pop-punk and swirls them around with a dash of nostalgia and a sprinkle of angst. Really, there’s nothing super out of the norm when it comes to this song. It’s your cliche pop-punk styled love song about being “Under Your Spell.” That being said, there’s something special about this song and Up From Here’s sound in general. It’s just so perfect. So well curated and polished to a shine while somehow keeping the grit that comes with a walk down pop-punk memory lane. Unfortunately, I don’t have much more to say about this track but it caught my attention enough to want to devote a full blog post to it so, don’t let my lack of words fool you, “Under Your Spell” from Up From Here is absolutely worth a listen or twelve.
