Today has already been super rough. Not bad, but rough. There aren’t many people in my position at my day job so, when someone takes a day or two off, it feels like the weight of the world crashing down on your shoulders. Thankfully, I have a supportive management team that helps mitigate the stress that happens when people are gone but that doesn’t change the fact that my days go from easy and breezey to difficuly and stressful. That’s where I’m at with the day and, truthfully, I don’t have the time to check out new music but I just need a quick breather so let’s sneak one in quick and check out “The End” from Mammoth.
Mammoth is Wolfgang Van Halen. That, right there, should tell you a lot about this uber powerful track. It’s full of truly dazzling guitar work that will delight you at the same time it leaves you in a dizzied haze. For me, it’s the guitar playing that really hooked me into “The End.” Although the vocals are just as well done and important to this hard rock-styled song, they just didn’t fill my heart up like the guitar work does. “The End” is a fast-moving song with a tempo of 144, making it the kind of song that is perfect to either get your motivation up or be your friend during a heavy workout. Either way, “The End” is explosive. You can fall in love with whatever element you want from this song but, at the end of the day, “The End” and Mammoth will absolutely be names that you just can’t shake from you head.
