I introduced ya’ll to Forester in July when I shared “Daredevil Youth.” Were you paying attention? I sure hope so, but just in case you missed that post, I’m here to share Forester’s new song, “You Were Born,” as a way to remind you just how much attention this band deserves.
“You Were Born” is part of Forester’s new EP, ‘Young Guns.’ It’s the lead single from that release, and it’s easy to hear why. There’s a grit and a swagger to this song that brings so much life to the track. On top of that is Forester’s signature infectious energy. It’s not the same kind of infectious energy that you would get from a pop-punk-perfect kind of song or even one that you would get from an arena-ready anthem. It’s a signature brand of infectious energy that really can not be put into words but can absolutely be felt throughout this three-minute-long song. “You Were Born” runs the gamut of emotions. Although three minutes isn’t a whole lot of time, Forester will somehow make you feel everything while this song plays. You will feel restlessness, defeat, triumph, sadness, joy, power, angst– seriously, everything. What a stunning track from a band that is seriously so worth your time and attention.
