‘Twas the day before a long weekend and all through the office, not a single phone was ringing, not even an email. That’s right, it’s dead at the day job today. I should be taking advantage of this and getting caught up on things that have fallen to the wayside but, honestly, my head is on the long weekend and I can’t concentrate on anything so, instead of using this time to get caught up on work, let’s use this time to check out a bunch of new music starting with “Daredevil Youth” from Forester.
There’s a sense of adrenaline that radiates throughout this energetic and anthemic track, making it perfect for a day like today. The power is flawless, but what really hooked me about this track is the grit that comes through in the vocals and the edge that they give to this track. “Daredevil Youth” is perfectly unpolished. It’s raw but so well produced and curated. Sure, it has that rough sound to it, but really, this song is far from rough around the edges. On top of all of this are the perfect lyrics that reminisce about those years that made us all. We all come from different backgrounds, there’s no denying that, but at the end of the day, we are all who we are because of what made us– the good, the bad, and the ugly. I love how Forester pays homage to those restless years and reminds us that, at our core, we will also just be those scared kids who are fighting for anything and everything as we try to figure out how to get through this thing called life.
