Most of my break-ups have been fairly amicable. Either I still talk to my exes, or we just drifted apart so much that there is no bad blood, but we just don’t chat. I know that this is a bit different than the norm, but it’s something I’m proud of. Because of this, I really can’t relate to “BYSA” from Psycho Chromatic as it’s a song about getting revenge after a girl finds out that her partner cheated on her. That being said, I instantly fell head over heels for this song and Psycho Chromatic within my first listen of this song.

Psycho Chromatic has a pop-punk-perfect kind of vibe to them so, of course, I was instantly hooked. Their sound falls a bit more on the west side of the pop-punk scene, given the bright and bubbly nature of this song, and I love how that seems to clear the clouds that have been hovering outside, if only in my head. As mentioned, this song is a revenge anthem. In the storyline behind the lyrics, when the girl finds out she is being cheated on, she gets her revenge by breaking all of her boyfriend’s things. Although I would have loved a little bit more tongue-in-cheek drama to really drive the point home, I love that you get this subtle feeling of angst and aggression while, overall, this song stays bright and boppy. Whether you’re in the mood for a revenge anthem or just need something fresh and new to listen to, I highly suggest checking out “BYSA” from Psycho Chromatic.
