I’ve already admitted to the fact that the reason I checked out this band for the very first time was solely based on their band name. I don’t hide the fact that I’m a crazy cat lady. I have no desire to have human children, so instead, I have opted to have four little fur babies. I’m not sure that my boyfriend is super wild about it, but I am, and I am constantly hoping to be chosen by the “CDS” again (CDS is cat distribution system, which is a real thing– that’s how I have Judge Jackson Monroe the 13th, AKA Street Rat). You’re not here to read about my cats, though; you’re here to listen to some new music, so let’s check out Litterbox Massacre’s new song, “Purrrrgatory”.
Off of the band’s long-awaited album, ‘The Nine Paws of Hell’, “Purrrgatory” may be fun and games when it comes to the song name and band name, but when it comes to this track, it is all business. This song is heavier than heavy. I mean, super heavy. We are talking like Lorna Shore meets old school Whiteshore with a little taste of Dr. Acula grindcore styled lyrics. Pure chaos, pure heaviness, and pure perfection. To the untrained ear, this song will surely just sound like obnoxious sounds overlapping to create an unrelenting headache, but to those of us who find a sense of solace in music like this, I really can not understate how much thought this band has clearly put into every single passing beat. It’s clean, it’s precise, and, again, just oh so “purrr-fect”. Okay, I’m sorry for that one, but not sorry for turning you into an instant fan of Litterbox Massacre. Check it out and let’s show this band some serious love.
