Do you ever feel like you’re just on autopilot? I feel like it’s a feeling that has become normal. Even with going to different concerts every night, I feel like I’m just going through the motions most of the time and just counting down the time until I can escape into a whole new world through a concert. “Restless” from ZOCO urges you to press pause on the wash, rinse, and repeat aspect of life, and I feel like the message behind this song is one that should be shouted from the rooftops, regardless of whether you feel like you have adventure in your life or not.

This song, like the message, is playful. It’s a light song with a sense of creative whimsy that will instantly put a smile on your face. Although the lyrics are fairly simple, there’s something deep about the way they make you feel as you delve into word after word. Stylistically, “Restless” seems to dabble in a bit of everything from folk to pop, Americana to rock. The one thing that reigns supreme as ZOCO plays through various styles and genres is the conviction that comes through loud and clear. Have you ever heard a song and it makes you think about so many things, but, at the same time, your mind seems to go blank as you just get lost in the sound? That’s what happened as I was listening to “Restless” from Zoco and, no matter how many times I check out this track, I feel like I just can not find more words to describe it. Long story short, you need to feel this song for yourself. You need to take the words to heart and let the playful energy of this track remind you that life doesn’t have to be wash, rinse, repeat. We, as humans, are meant for so much more than that.
