We all have a breaking point. I’m not anywhere near mine right now, but there are times when I can feel a sense of rage bottling up on the inside, and it’s just a matter of time before I pop. The next time I get to that point, I will have “Dfwm” from Dallis in my back pocket to help me find an outlet for that rage.
As Dallis puts it, this song “is a female-rage anthem built around a moment every woman, anywhere in the world, can recognize. It’s that quiet breaking point when you’ve given patience, loyalty, and your whole heart, only to be pushed past the line one too many times.” The lyrics really spell it out in black and white but that’s not what hooked me in this song. What really got me is the energy and the emotion that comes through. It’s so relatable and so raw. It’s the kind of song that feels all too real, hitting a bit too close to home. You not only get a release of rage throughout this three-and-a-half-minute song, but also a triumphant energy that gives me a sense of life today. I love how this song is as bold as it is full of emotion. Long story short, as I said, this is a song I will definitely be keeping in my back pocket for those days where everything feels like it’s just too much.
