Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s pretty dang chilly in the Twin Cities today and it makes me happy. Not only because I love cold weather, but because I hope means that the regime trying to take over the Twin Cities is absolutely miserable. This isn’t a political blog and it has nothing to do with “widower” from eve claret but it’s what’s on my mind right now so I had to get it out there. I also have to get “widower” out there because this song is so gosh dang perfect.

I mean it when I say that this track is perfect and I mean it through and through. Not only will the sound of eve claret surely catch you when it comes to this song, so will the video. Everything about “widower” is dramatic but it never reaches a point that feels over the top or almost cheesy. Instead, “widower” finds a path of power and mystery that is impossible to ignore. There’s a little nu-metal in this track, a little post-hardcore alt-rock, and even a cute little dog in the music video to really grab your attention. Really, there’s something for everyone in this song and music video but I have a feeling that, like myself, you will end up wanting so much more from eve claret after just one listen to “widower.” Lucky for you, this is the lead single off their debut album ‘lace’ which is out now!
