Girl at the Rock Shows

Although I’m not feeling 100% today, I’m having a pretty okay day. I feel like I’m staying motivated and getting a lot of work done. Unfortunately, I feel like I’ve kind of gotten lost in work and have neglected sharing out as much new music as I had planned on so let’s take a little breather and check out “good boy” from This Wild Life.

I’ve been lost in a haze of nostalgia this morning. The music of bands from the early 2000s pop punk era are just hitting perfectly and this song matches that vibe perfect. It’s a light and fluffy piece with a powerful message behind the track. It’s about being burned out but not on work, more on just being polite and, truthfully, after an email exchange I just had, this song hits a bit more perfect than usual. There’s angst here but that angst and slightly sharp tongue is masked by the overall positivity and infectious energy that comes with this song. Although I do call it light and fluffy, there’s no denying the energy or power that comes through in every element that makes up this song. It’s loud, it’s raw, it’s cathartic and it’s absolutely what you need if you’re sick of dealing with stupid, impatient people today.
