I’ll never forget overhearing a conversation at Riot Fest about birds. I didn’t get much context but I stood in awe as I watched someone talk about how birds are actually government drones and they use powerlines to charge themselves. Obviously, there’s a lot more to that and I know this is a common conspiracy theory but it was the first time I had heard it all in person. I’m not going to say that I believe it but I will say that some points were made. This has nothing to do with “Over It” from Birds? but, come on, of course that band name trigged this random memory.
“Over It” is the first single from the upcoming album, ‘We Will Never Know, and That’s Okay’ from Birds? and it definitely will get you in the mood for the full-length. I love how Birds? clearly has a math rock kind of sound to them but they make it accessible. Do you ever heard a math rock song that you want to love but it’s like the band overcomplicates the math rock aspect of it? That’s not the case here. Sure, it’s math rock but there’s something a bit more familiar about this West Chester-PA- based band and I love it. Ass in the power (both sonic and emotional) of the vocals are you are left with a truly stunning track that will make you far from “Over It” when it comes to this band. Rumor has it that there will be a tour this summer for the band to promote the new album so make sure to throw them a follow so you don’t miss a stop near you!
