I don’t have anything fun or quirky to say right now. It’s just another Monday morning where I’m getting a lot done but time feels like it’s slipping by. Some would call it a “manic Monday” but I refuse to let it get the best of me so, before I start having a panic or anxiety attack over this pile of work that seems to be never ending, let’s check out “Nothing Gold” from The Long Ride Home.
This song is full of nostalgia which is the first thing that had me hooked but that’s not all that “Nothing Gold” or The Long Ride Home has to offer. This song sounds like a bouncy little track that will absolutely make you want to move a bit but the lyrics hit you more like a tender Dashboard Confessional track. It’s a cool blend of bouncy power and infectious emotion and that’s what sets The Long Ride Home apart from every other band that seems to be paying homage to the pop-punk scene of the early 2000s. Add in this group’s clear attention to detail when it comes to the way every note and every word hits throughout this nearly three-minute long song and you are left with pure pop-punk perfection. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself!
