There’s a leak somewhere in my office building. It’s an old and crumbling kind of building, so, in my mind, I’d like to see this place flood to a point where corporate has no option other than to tear it down and rebuild. I know that’s not going to happen, but a girl can dream, right? This has nothing to do with “Bury Me” from Jack Maybury but is just a little peek into what’s going on in my head right now.
When sending this song to me, Jack said that this was a super fun song for him to make, and, honestly, you can feel that. “Bury Me” is an upbeat, Blink-182-style pop-punk anthem. The energy behind this song is flawless, making it the perfect song for that post-lunch slump, but don’t let this song fool you. Although it’s super bright and sunny, “Bury Me” actually has a bit of a dark story behind it. Okay, maybe not dark, but, as Jack puts it, “We were inspired by Every Breath You Take by The Police and how it was written through a stalker’s perspective, so we decided to write a little about a psychopath’s mindset.” What started as a bit of a joke has turned into this amazing song. Who am I to question that? Check it out and let’s show Jack Maybury some love!
